Introducing Bitcoin Crash & Hi-Lo

Georgios by Georgios · November 13, 2022

Bitcoin Crash and hi-lo are two crypto games particularly popular among whales because of their increased odds and speed enabling players to wager large amounts. We explain how each game works, how to play and where to play.

BTC Crash Game

The Crash game has been designed to peak the interests of those who have a passion for crypto. It is a very simple game where you place a bet, and watch the price grow and your winnings increase, or it crashes and all winnings are lost.

How does it work?:

You place your bet prior to a game round starting, they usually range from quite low to quite high depending on the casino. The Multiplier will then start running when the round is announced. Traditionally it starts at 1 and will increase over a specified time frame. And then you withdraw when you feel like it may have reached its peak, and hopefully before it crashes. You are entitled to withdraw at any time during the round. When you do withdraw, the multiplier at the point of withdrawal gets added to your bet, and that is what your winnings would be. So if we look at an example, you bet $20 and your multiplier gets up to 3.5, and you withdraw, your winnings would be $70. The downside of this simple game is that if you don’t withdraw in time, and the multiplier crashes, you lose everything.

Most BTC crash games look the same as what you would see when watching the crypto graphs, with a few variants here and there for a more personal or casino-specific feel and theme. I have seen a plane in flight which was quite a fun spin on this very basic game.

Most variations of this game have a leaderboard-style table of your fellow Crash players and you can see how the game is hitting with other players dropping out earlier or later as you will only be granted your wins at the end of the round, it is also really interesting to see who else won or lost according to their time on the round.

This game is very gripping and exciting as you never know when the Crash is going to hit and it keeps you on the edge of your seat while watching the graph increase and the multiplier shoot up.

As this game is heavily reliant on random algorithms, there are no known strategies. We will always look for these and let you know, of course, however, there is no likelihood of a “hack” or way around it. With that being said, it has been noticed that the common outcomes lie around the 2 x multiplier mark. There have been many higher multipliers seen and posted about, but their likelihood is naturally unlikely and this is a game of sheer luck and wits.

Where to play

Here I have some examples of where you can try out BTC Crash games:

Vera Casino has two variations of the game:

  • Crash X which has a great space travelling feel to it. As the rocket launches through the skies, you will see all the planets it passes by, with the crash being quite dramatic with the top 3 astronauts being announced.

  • Crash X Football Edition is as you would imagine, a soccer ball shooting through the stadium. As players withdraw you see team members running away from the ball. The ball bursts on the crash and the top 3 players get a pretty neat looking trophy.

BC.Game has 2 modes of the game, with different multipliers attached.

  • Classic Crash which has a very basic version of the game, no frills no fuss. They have the intention of providing you with the easiest and clearest way to play the game.

  • Trenball mode: you can bet on three different results of the game, but winnings are set by a fixed amount. This is a very interesting variation, but we suggest you get more comfortable with the mechanics before jumping right in.

Hi-Lo

This is a very simple, yet highly entertaining card game of choice. The dealer places 3 cards in front of you and you need to decide if the next card being dealt is going to be of a higher or lower value to the one you opt to hand back to the dealer. You have two choices which come with different stakes when choosing. There is a slight catch though, the King is higher and the Ace is lower.

Strategies

The dealer hands me a 3 of Hearts, a Jack of Spades and a 10 of Clubs. I see on the stakes the 3 of Hearts is a 20 odds for lower, and a 45 for higher. The Jack of Spades is 65 for higher and 12 for lower, and the 10 of clubs is 12 for lower and 40 for higher. Which would I choose? Easiest winning card would be the 3 of Hearts for higher, right? Almost guaranteed win… but where is the fun in that? Let’s go big! Let’s put high on the Jack of Spades. The dealer pulls out an Ace of Diamonds. I have lost. Ace is normally a high-value card on the tables, but in this game, it’s the lowest you can get.

Next example, the dealer gives me a King of Spades, there is no higher odds as it is the highest it can go, but the lower odds are 10, a 7 of Diamonds with a higher odds of 39 and lower odds of 25 and a 2 of Clubs with the higher odds being 34 and lower odds being 55. I hand in the 7 of Diamonds with the higher option, and the dealer hands me a Queen of Clubs. Huzzah! I have won, and since I opted for the higher option, I won a slightly higher payout based on the odds set out in the game.

The more likely you are to win, the lower the odds will be. The less likely, the higher the odds. The odds do vary between each hand, which makes this game gripping. You never quite know which cards are going to be handed to you, nor do you know what the comparison stakes will be. These all depend on the initial cards dealt to you and what the next card could potentially be.

Even though it looks like it may be a simple game to ‘hack’, playing this game online will not help you in terms of card counting. I strongly suggest you make logical thought out decisions when playing to ensure the enjoyment of the game.

Where to play

Here are my two suggestions for playing Hi-Lo for the first time:

  • Cloudbet has a very colourful and simple looking version of this game. You can stack up your wins to improve the payout as well which is a fun feature.

  • BitDice has a more classic feel to it, with your card table and the music in the background being quite traditional jazzy music which makes for a pleasant experience.

Conclusion

These are definitely the two biggest crypto games online at the moment, but both have one major play strategy in common - keep a cool head. Think clearly and carefully when placing those bets and choose wisely when to slow down, lower your bets or even step away. This will do your gaming the world of difference. They are both quick fire games and thoroughly enjoyable. I had a ton of fun testing them out for you, and I hope you have a great smile on your face when you are done for the day.
